HONEY SOY GLAZED SIRLOIN STEAK

INGREDIENTS:   Serves 1

1  tsp  soy sauce
2g  honey
180g  sirloin beef steak, cleaned
Oil, for cooking
20g  sweet potato, boiled
5g  mushroom, chopped
10ml  orange juice
5ml  plum juice
1  tsp  lemon juice
2g  garlic, chopped
2g  butter
5g  onion, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
Orange rind, caramelised (for garnishing)

Method:
  • In a saucepan, add soy sauce and honey, and cook until reduced. Add steak and saute until glazed with honey and soy.
  • Grease a saucepan with oil and pan-fry the sweet potato. Add onion and garlic and saute well. Add mushrooms, and saute for a few more minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper. To prepare the Orange Butter sauce- reduce orange juice, plum juice, lemon juice and butter in a saucepan.
  • Season with salt and pepper, and set aside for serving. Garnish steak with caramelised orange rind, and serve with the Orange Butter sauce.
